Tyre Killers
Mechanical Tyre Killers MTK Series
MTK-FM/SM Series mechanical tyre killers normally provide one-way access and, thanks to their special mechanism, can also permit reverse-direction passage in emergencies or whenever required. Independently moving spikes are mounted on a common shaft. The spikes retract as vehicle tyres pass over them and automatically return to their initial position by counterweight. During unauthorised entry, the spikes damage the tyres and stop the vehicle within a few metres.
The optional lock-down mechanism allows all spikes to be locked in the lowered position to permit reverse-direction traffic. One person can engage the lock with a single action. The top cover can be removed easily for cleaning and maintenance. The SM Series is surface-mounted and requires no concrete excavation.
